Haunt of the Acne: Day 3

Friday is one of the BEST days of the week!
The weekend is always something to look forward to. Because it is often times the time to relax, kick it with family and friends, and just BE! That is what I love about the weekend! Life is great and I wouldn't it change it for anything! How was your Friday? I laughed a lot today because boy it feels good to know that I am with my family and to just be FREE to take a walk, do laundry, watch a movie, go to a movie, or just hang out! Love Fridays!

Haunt of The Acne: Day 2


Rough is the word that immediately came to mind as I thought about the overall experience for today! Yes, it's been a bit rough. I had my ups and downs, and hey, it's all great! I really am proud of myself for cutting back on those things that were doing harm to my inside. It was rough today because I have spent a lot of days just eating the WRONG stuff. I keep going on this cycle, where I am doing great, then after some months I fall back off the wagon. I am positive though and am not frustrated. Because I am human. :)

So yesterday, DAY 1, I was really determined to rid myself of this acne that has flared up on my face! :)
I am hoping to continue with this for as long as it takes!

Shake head YES...now shake head NO....

This is what came to mind as I was thinking of what to blog about tonight! :)
I did Body Flow again today and it felt amazing! Just what I needed to relax, release, and renew! WHEW what a flowing class it was!

During part of the stretch portion of the class, the Instructor has us shake our heads YES, then shake our heads No while doing a forward fold (I think) position.
So picture yourself: legs together, upper body bent down and forward, releasing the shoulders, releasing the upper body! And then we do the shaking of the head Yes, and then No. Each time I do it I feel this flow of energy that is calming, positive, and FREE. That may sound a little strange to you. I challenge you to be open to this feeling and give the class a try: BODY FLOW is held in several gyms!

What's on your mind?

Not sure what to blog about tonight...so I'll just put out some random thoughts.
Here it goes:
I am so saddened by the ways of this world. Yet I am also happy from all the beauty
we have here in the world.

Two sides to this and I try to keep focused on the positive because that is what going to help me get through this life. I hardly watch the news: why watch it when I have friends and family to tell me what is going on when I talk with them? I'd rather spend my time on meditation, being still, praying, and just learning how to live peacefully in this life and MOST IMPORTANTLY how to inspire others to live peacefully! :)

Release

Today's word that came to mind: RELEASE
I had lots to do today to catch up on for work and also with personal tasks.
And I was getting a little frustrated because there is much to do and I typically feel I don't have a lot of time in the day to do what I REALLY NEED TO DO.

And so irritation set in and I realized that I cannot continue in this state of mind. It was bothering me and I needed to step away from the work. Part of me wanted to keep going to just finish it. Yet I also felt the need to RELEASE!

When Fatigue Sets In

There are times where we sometimes get really fatigued.
When this happens to me I get a bit irritated and if I can't rest then the irritation just grows and stress begins to pour over me!

Sometimes the fatigue is from doing too much all at once, and sometimes it is from not putting enough nutrients in my body. Earlier today, I believe I didn't feed my body enough nutrients. The fatigue began to set in and I felt my mood change.
Not a good feeling for me, and I don't like to feel that way at all!

Keep Smiling...

In a world full of violence and hate, there is still reason to keep positive and be filled with joy!
I was talking with my Mom today about these men at the train station where she usually parks her car and rides the train to work. They had on ski masks and hijacked a woman and her father's vehicle. The woman was shot in the stomach and the father was beaten severely in the head. All to take a car? Why didn't they just take the car? Why did they have to go so far as to shoot innocent people? This was at the train station where my Mom goes to all the time to ride in to work! Seriously people?

Have Faith...

A lot of times I start to give in to the world's conventional way of doing things.
I feel that I am not strong enough to move away from the world's way of thinking (get the highest educational degree, be politically correct, dress this way, behave this way, drink milk, eat that because it is good for protein, etc.). And then I think that maybe one day I can do it the way that I feel and believe is right. When we enter a new way of thinking, it is sometimes a challenge to stay consistent with it, especially if it is new to us.

What releases your stress?

I was listening to Ryan Leslie and I thought wow, whoever puts his beats together has it going on! I have so much going on right now and there is just not enough time in the day to do what I want to do! So to relieve the stress going on in my head with all these thoughts, I turn on the music and I start moving to the beat! So therapeutic for me when I need to just release the stress!
Of course that is why I love Zumba Fitness! And why so many others do!
Talk about a great stress reliever!

Not The Same

I haven't had Godiva chocolate for a while now.
I went to the bookstore to work a little on my new iPad2 (gift for myself)
and decided to get a Godiva chocolate bar with almonds.
After eating it, I noticed it wasn't the same.
WHAT? I was shocked! How can this be?
Chocolate is my FAVORITE!
After eating all the good stuff on a regular basis, the old stuff just doesn't taste
the same.

Focus

It's late and I should be resting, I know.
I am craving a snack and I should just close my eyes. Can't do it though.
I am thinking about some sweets, what I need to do tomorrow, work for this weekend, and much more.
"Focus girl, focus!" This is what I am telling myself right now. Otherwise, I will go downstairs and have a snack. The focus is on not eating too late, getting plenty of rest, drinking plenty of water, and staying in peace. Blogging this entry is also helping me to keep focus. So what's your focus? My uncle says this all the time and it brings me back to what I need to focus on, and keeps me motivated!

Sickness Be Gone!

Recently my throat felt a little scratchy. I just found out that Richmond is the #1 Allergy Capitol in the U.S. Interesting! And when we have the windows open in the car I cough a lot.
I haven't felt sick for quite some time now and I plan to keep it that way!
How about you? Let's eliminate the sickness and bring on the healthiness!

Allow Yourself to Be More Open

The Body Flow class that I attend is a very unique and relaxing experience because it allows you to stretch your muscles even further for a greater range of motion, and for more flexibility. We do several exercises where we focus on opening the heart- letting our chest expand as we stretch and breathe!

SIGH as we exhale. The opening of the chest allows me to sink more into the moment.
As we hold the stretch, we are focused on our breathing opening even more on the exhale.

Take a Break

Made with Love...

Tried to post this last night, however, BLOGGER was down and well, I was not going to stay up longer to wait to see when it would be back up and running! :)

Yesterday the family and I had a good time making pizza!
Our first time making pizza! :)
The Smith Veggie Pizza has spinach, grape tomatoes, blended veggies that was in the food processor, pesto sauce, pizza sauce, Italian cheese, and that's it! BETTER THAN S.A.D. Pizza! And homemade!

Love This Life!

Today I woke up feeling just GOOD! I am feeling lighter, brighter, and hyper as I start to move through the day! The energy feels great!
My Dad is interested in changing his lifestyle and he is doing more research on healthier living! What a blessing! I have shared with him how I believe he wants to live longer and I want him to live longer, and that in order for this to happen (God willing)- then we MUST take better care of ourselves internally so that life here on earth can be extended and rewarding.

I LOVE Green Smoothies! They are so refreshing, LIVE PLANT-BASED NUTRITION
in a CUP! If you have not tried it, please do. Just take 2-4 of your favorite fresh greens that you enjoy, 1/2 of a lemon, 2 apples, 2 bananas, cold water, and ice, and put all in a blender (Vita-Mix is great for making Green Smoothies)!

Me and Hubby: Different is GOOD

Today my dear NZH- hubby asked me what drives me when I am working my career!
It was easy to answer: I told him the people that I interact with, educate, and train- they are what drive me. To see people inspired, lives changes, lives saved, and the fact that they want to go out and also inspire people to happy healthy living: yes that is what drives me!

He and I talked about how different we are. At first I thought he was going to bring up something that he had a concern with regarding our relationship. It was quite the opposite.

The Mastser Cleanse: DAY 1
